Apple TV+ has released the official trailer and key art for the upcoming Apple Original Film, WOLFWALKERS, which will be released in UK cinemas from 13 November and launch globally on Apple TV+ on 11 December 2020.
WOLFWALKERS is the latest film from two-time Academy Award-nominated director Tomm Moore (Song of the Sea, The Secret of Kells) and director Ross Stewart (The Secret of Kells), and co-produced by the award-winning animation studios Cartoon Saloon (The Breadwinner) and Melusine Productions (Ernest & Celestine). WOLFWALKERS has a screenplay by Will Collins based on an original story by Moore and Stewart.
The voice cast includes Honor Kneafsey, Eva Whitaker, Sean Bean, Simon McBurney, Tommy Tiernan, Jon Kenny, John Morton, and Maria Doyle Kennedy.
WOLFWALKERS is currently screening in the ‘Family’ strand of the 64th BFI London Film Festival.
In a time of superstition and magic, a young apprentice hunter, Robyn Goodfellowe, journeys to Ireland with her father to wipe out the last wolf pack. While exploring the forbidden lands outside the city walls, Robyn befriends a free-spirited girl, Mebh, a member of a mysterious tribe rumored to have the ability to transform into wolves by night. As they search for Mebh’s missing mother, Robyn uncovers a secret that draws her further into the enchanted world of the “Wolfwalkers” and risks turning into the very thing her father is tasked to destroy.
