Would you like to publish an article on The Arts Shelf? We welcome original, high-quality articles from brands, businesses, PR and marketing agencies and other organisations working across the subjects we cover.
How It Works
Submit And Pay
Provide your details and pay the £80 submission fee.
Send Us Your Article
Supply your complete article, proposed title, details of any commercial relationship and any links you would like us to consider.
Editorial Review
Our editorial team will review your submission and either accept it, request amendments or decline it. We normally aim to complete our initial review within five working days.
Publication
If your article is accepted, we’ll prepare it for publication with the appropriate editorial treatment, commercial disclosure and link attributes. Once it is published, we’ll provide you with the live article URL.
What You Can Submit
The Arts Shelf covers a broad range of arts, culture, travel, leisure and lifestyle subjects, and we’re always happy to consider articles that are genuinely relevant to our readers. This includes subjects such as film, television, theatre, books, music, art, exhibitions, travel, food and drink, events, attractions and other areas that fit naturally within our existing coverage.
The important bit is relevance. We won’t accept unrelated articles simply because they contain a link someone would like placed on The Arts Shelf. We also don’t accept content submitted primarily to manipulate search rankings, obtain unnatural ranking credit or insert irrelevant keyword-targeted links.
Paid Commercial Submissions
The Arts Shelf is first and foremost an editorial publication. This service gives businesses, brands, agencies and other commercial contributors a straightforward way to submit suitable content for consideration by our editorial team.
The £80 fee covers submission, editorial review and processing. It does not guarantee publication, traffic, search visibility, rankings, search authority, followed links or any particular SEO outcome.
Accepted paid commercial articles will carry an appropriate commercial disclosure. Commercial links will use rel=”sponsored”, with nofollow also applied where appropriate. We may edit or remove links where they are irrelevant, misleading, unsafe or otherwise unsuitable for The Arts Shelf.
Refunds
If we decline a submission during our initial eligibility check, before substantive editorial review has begun, we’ll refund the £80 submission fee. Once substantive editorial review has begun, the fee is normally non-refundable, including where we ultimately decide not to publish the article. We’ll also refund duplicate payments and confirmed payments taken because of a technical error. Nothing in this policy affects any rights which cannot legally be excluded.
