Chloé Zhao’s ‘NOMADLAND’ will premiere on Star on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland on 30th April 2021

Searchlight Pictures has confirmed that Chloé Zhao‘s OSCAR nominated Neo-western drama, NOMADLAND, starring Frances McDormand in a critically-acclaimed central performance, will now premiere on Star on Disney+ in the UK and Ireland on 30th April 2021, available to all Disney+ subscribers at no additional charge.

NOMADLAND will also be available to UK and Ireland exhibitors for theatrical performance once cinemas re-open.

Written, directed, edited and co-produced by Chloé Zhao, and based on the 2017 non-fiction book Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder, the film co-stars David Strathairn alongside real nomads Linda May, Charlene Swankie and Bob Wells.

Following the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, Fern (McDormand) packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad. Real nomads May, Swankie and Wells play Fern’s mentors and comrades in her exploration through the vast landscape of the American West.
