Nadine Sierra & Liv Redpath star in Katie Mitchell’s ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’ at the Royal Opera House

Katie Mitchell’s acclaimed production of Lucia di Lammermoor returns to the Royal Opera House Main Stage for nine performances this Spring, opening on Friday 19 April 2024.

Mitchell’s staging brings intensity and gothic drama to Gaetano Donizetti’s setting of Walter Scott’s celebrated novel.

Giacomo Sagripanti and Richard Hetherington conduct two casts in this striking revival which sees Nadine Sierra return to the Main Stage following the huge success in her Royal Opera debut as Adina in L’elisir d’amore in September 2023. Sierra shares the role with Liv Redpath, who makes her house debut, having previously performed the role of Lucia for Staatsoper Hamburg and Los Angeles Opera.

They are joined by Xabier Anduaga and Dmitry Korchak who share the role of Edgardo, alongside Artur Ruciński (Enrico Ashton), Insung Sim (Raimondo Bidebent), and former ROH Jette Parker Young Artist Andrés Presno (Arturo Bucklaw).

The creative team includes set and costume design by Vicki Mortimer, lighting design by Jon Clark, and movement direction by Joseph Alford.
