Sony Masterworks Broadway has released a new Deluxe Edition of the Original Cast Recording of the multi-award-winning BACK TO THE FUTURE The Musical, which is currently running at the Adelphi Theatre in London’s West End and recently opened on Broadway at New York’s Winter Garden Theatre.
Available now both Digitally and as a 2-CD set, the new Deluxe Edition includes 13 never-before-heard demos, alternate and early versions of many of the show’s major numbers, most performed by Glen Ballard himself. Also included within the new release is an expanded booklet featuring rehearsal photos and a track-by-track by writer Bob Gale with exclusive stories detailing how the songs were created for the show.
The musical features new music by multi-Grammy winners Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard as well as hit songs from the iconic film, including “The Power of Love,” “Johnny B. Goode” and more.
The Original Cast Recording features Roger Bart and Olly Dobson as ‘Dr Emmett Brown’ and ‘Marty McFly’ respectively, Hugh Coles as ‘George McFly’, Rosanna Hyland as ‘Lorraine Baines’, Cedric Neal as ‘Goldie Wilson’, Aidan Cutler as ‘Biff Tannen’ and Courtney-Mae Briggs as ‘Jennifer Parker’.
Behind this highly-praised stage show are Producer Colin Ingram (Ghost – The Musical) and Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, the creators of the Back To The Future film trilogy.
The show moved to the West End following an out-of-town opening at the Manchester Opera House where it was enthusiastically received by critics and public alike.
