Full casting announced for West End transfer of ‘DR SEMMELWEIS’ starring Mark Rylance

Full casting has been announced for the anticipated West End transfer of the critically acclaimed play, DR SEMMELWEIS, starring Mark Rylance in the title role, which plays a strictly limited 14-week run at the Harold Pinter Theatre from 29 June to 7 October 2023.

DR SEMMELWEIS was originally developed by the National Theatre Studio and produced by Bristol Old Vic, in association with Sonia Friedman Productions, the National Theatre and Shakespeare Road.

The play, in which Rylance reprises the title role, is written by Stephen Brown with Mark Rylance – based on an original idea by Rylance. – and is directed by Tom Morris. In a unique theatrical event, he and the cast are joined on stage by 10 ballet dancers and the Salome String Quartet.
