Loungers opens retro-inspired Oppio Lounge in Altrincham, Cheshire

Loungers plc, the West Country-based café/bar group, has transformed the old Bistrot Pierre site on George Street in Altrincham, Cheshire into Oppio Lounge, a new, retro-inspired retreat, with a nod to a glamorous bygone era.

Heavily patterned wallpapers, tiling and stripped wooden floors will feature alongside oversized vintage sofas, upholstered lounge chairs, eclectic artwork and statement wall and pendant lighting, creating a variety of cosy and elegant drinking and dining areas to choose from.

A real home from home, Oppio Lounge will cater for all tastes throughout the day with a varied and innovative all-day menu. Whether it’s a coffee with friends, a long lazy brunch with family or a relaxed dinner and drinks, Oppio Lounge is the perfect place to relax and unwind in good company.

The all-day menu will feature everything from tapas and salads to burgers and buttermilk fried chicken, with vegans and those favouring a gluten-free diet well catered for with their very own menus.

Particular attention will be paid to families with a selection of games, books, colouring pencils and pads on offer. A full menu, high chairs and baby-changing facilities will also be available for Little Loungers.

Gemma Irwin, Community Manager at Loungers, says:

“We are delighted to be bringing Loungers to Altrincham.  Our Lounges strive to put community at the heart of hospitality and our teams always go the extra mile to make a difference.  They are actively encouraged to connect with their communities by working with local groups, charities, organisations and businesses that are at the heart of the fabric of local life.  We are very much looking forward to welcoming local residents to Altrincham Lounge.”

Starting as they mean to go on, the team at Oppio Lounge has partnered with local charity Francis House Children’s Hospice and will donate 50p from every burger and 20p from each coffee sold in month one of trading.

Julie Williams, fundraising officer of Francis House Children’s Hospice, said of the commitment from Lounges:

“We are so pleased to have them on board and excited to start working with the team at Oppio Lounge in Altrincham. The support of the local community is vital to Francis House and we are reliant on donations to continue our work caring for hundreds of children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families. We have lots of fun ideas and exciting ways that people can get involved including knitting for our Easter appeal, taking part in a challenge or getting festive for our Festival of Christmas Trees. On behalf of Francis House thank you for choosing to support our hospice.”

Oppio Lounge will create approximately 25 jobs, with a range of front- and back-of-house roles currently available.
