Legendary theatre stars, Lea Salonga and Bernadette Peters, got together yesterday to prepare for their return to the London stage to star in SONDHEIM’S OLD FRIENDS.
SONDHEIM’S OLD FRIENDS will run at the Gielgud Theatre in London’s West End from 16 September 2023 to 6 January 2024.
Joining Lea Salonga and Bernadette Peters will be Christine Allado, Janie Dee, Bonnie Langford, Beatrice Penny-Touré, Joanna Riding, Jeremy Secomb, and Jac Yarrow, with more stars to be announced.
Originally staged as a one night only concert at the Sondheim Theatre on 3 May 2022, SONDHEIM’S OLD FRIENDS will be directed by Matthew Bourne and Julia McKenzie, with choreography by Stephen Mear. The production will be conducted by Alfonso Casado Trigo.
SONDHEIM’S OLD FRIENDS has Musical Supervision by Stephen Brooker, Musical Arrangements by Stephen Metcalfe, Set Design by Matt Kinley, Projection Design by George Reeve, Lighting Design by Warren Letton and Sound Design by Mick Potter.
