Universal Pictures UK has released the brand new artwork and trailer for the Academy Award-nominated animated comedy-drama, MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON, which will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on 17th February 2023.
Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, in his feature directorial debut, from a screenplay by Fleischer Camp, Jenny Slate and Nick Paley, from a story by Fleischer Camp, Slate, Paley and Elisabeth Holm, MARCEL THE SHELL WITH SHOES ON is based on a series of short mockumentary films of the same name written by Slate and Fleischer Camp.
The film stars Jenny Slate, Dean Fleischer Camp, Rosa Salazar, Thomas Mann, Lesley Stahl, and Isabella Rossellini.
Marcel (voiced by Jenny Slate) is an adorable one-inch-tall shell who ekes out a colorful existence with his grandmother Connie (voiced by Isabella Rossellini) and their pet lint, Alan. Once part of a sprawling community of shells, they now live alone as the sole survivors of a mysterious tragedy. But when a documentary filmmaker discovers them amongst the clutter of his Airbnb, the short film he posts online brings Marcel millions of passionate fans, as well as unprecedented dangers and a new hope at finding his long-lost family.
