Full casting announced for the World Premiere of ‘The Book Thief’ at Octagon Theatre Bolton!

Full casting has been announced for the World Premiere of The Book Thief, a new musical adaptation of Markus Zusak’s worldwide best-selling novel, which runs at the Octagon Theatre Bolton from Saturday 17th September to Saturday 15th October 2022.

The beloved book is brought to life with a script by award-winning author Jodi Picoult and Timothy Allen McDonald, and music and lyrics by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson.

The cast will be led by Ryan O’Donnell as the Narrator, Jack Lord as Hans Hubermann, Danielle Henry as Rosa Hubermann, and Daniel Krikler as Max Vandenburg. They are joined by Bea Glancy and Niamh Palmer who will share the role of Liesel, and Alfie Corbett and Charlie Murphy who will share the role of Rudy.

The ensemble is completed by Purvi Parmar, Katy Clayton, Victoria Brazier, Ida Regan, Duane Gooden, Andrew Whitehead and Matthew Heywood.

The Book Thief will be directed by the Octagon’s Artistic Director Lotte Wakeham and choreographed by Tom Jackson Greaves, with musical direction and orchestrations by Matthew Malone and design from Good Teeth aka James Perkins and Victoria Smart.

The production will also feature lighting design by Nic Farman, puppet design by Samuel Wilde and sound design by Andy Graham.

The wider production team includes Associate Director Georgia Wang Murphy, Associate Musical Director George Strickland, Casting Director Jacob Sparrow, Assistant Casting Director Olivia Barr and Production Manager Dan Turner.
