Full casting announced for the first major revival of Bruce Norris’ ‘Clybourne Park’ at Park Theatre

Trish Wadley Productions and David Adkin, in association with Park Theatre, have announced full casting for the anticipated first major revival of Bruce Norris‘ seminal play, Clybourne Park – winner of both the Tony and Olivier Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Norris – which will now run at Park Theatre from 16 March to 23 April 2022.

Oliver Kaderbhai’s production was originally planned for the play’s 10th anniversary year in 2020 but was forced to shut down at the final dress rehearsal in March 2020 due to the national lockdown.

Joining the previously announced Michael Fox (Jim/Tom), Andrew Langtree (Karl/Steve), Richard Lintern (Russ/Dan), Imogen Stubbs (Bev/Kathy) and Eric Underwood (Albert/Kevin) are Katie Matsell (Betsy/Lindsey) and Aliyah Odoffin (Francine/Lena).

In 1959, Russ and Bev are moving to the suburbs after the tragic death of their son and have sold their house to the neighbourhood’s first black family. Decades later, the roles are reversed when a young white couple buys the lot in what is now a predominantly black neighbourhood, signalling a new wave of gentrification. In both instances, a community showdown takes place – are the same issues festering beneath the floorboards fifty years on?

The creative team includes: Set and Costume Designer: James Turner; Lighting Designer: Alex Lewer; Sound Designer: Will Tonna; and Casting Director: Lucy Casson.
