Northern Ireland Opera (NI Opera) will return to Belfast’s Lyric Theatre in February 2022 to stage Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s musical masterpiece, INTO THE WOODS.
This epic new production will be directed by NI Opera’s Artistic Director Cameron Menzies and follows NI Opera’s acclaimed productions of The Threepenny Opera in 2018, Sweeney Todd in 2019 and Kiss Me Kate in 2020.
Menzies will draw on his expansive skills and influences across the performing arts to create a show-stopping production spotlighting the best of Northern Irish music and creative talent including Enniskillen-born designer Niall McKeever, who will be leading on a spectacular set and costume design.
The creative team also includes: Choreographer Jennifer Rooney, Lighting Designer Kevin Treacy, Production Manager Pádraig Ó Duinín and Producer Kate Watkins.
