New trailer & poster released for debbie tucker green’s ‘ear for eye’

A brand new trailer and poster has been released for debbie tucker green’s anticipated second feature, ear for eye, which will premiere simultaneously at the 65th BFI London Film Festival and on BBC Two and iPlayer on 16 October 2021.

ear for eye is adapted from debbie tucker green’s own acclaimed stage play of the same name, which opened at the Royal Court Theatre in 2018.

The ensemble cast includes Lashana Lynch, Tosin Cole, Carmen Munroe, Danny Sapani, Nadine Marshall, Arinzé Kene, Sharlene Whyte, Jade Anouka, Demetri Goritsas, David Gyasi and Jamal Ajala.

The film features music by Luke Sutherland with tracks from Run the Jewels, Kano, Little Simz and FKA twigs.

ear for eye follows different generations of British and American Black characters navigating their way through today’s society from front rooms to kitchens, to campuses and the streets. Dynamically mixing music, beats, dialogue and visuals ear for eye explores demonstrations vs direct action, violence vs non-violence, personal vs structural.

Presented by BBC Film and BFI (awarding National Lottery funding), ear for eye is a Fruit Tree Media production, produced by Fiona Lamptey with executive producers Barbara Broccoli for Eon Productions, Rose Garnett for BBC Film, Farhana Bhula for the BFI, and debbie tucker green.
