Picturehouse Entertainment has confirmed that writer and director Sean Durkin‘s anticipated new psychological thriller, The Nest, Durkin’s second feature film and the follow up to the critically acclaimed 2011 dramatic thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene, will be released in cinemas across the UK on 27th August 2021.
The slow burning thriller stars Jude Law and Carrie Coon, alongside a supporting cast including Charlie Shotwell, Oona Roche, Adeel Akhtar and Anne Reid.
The UK Premiere of The Nest will take place at Sundance Film Festival London 2021.
Rory (Jude Law), an ambitious entrepreneur and former commodities broker, persuades his American wife, Allison (Carrie Coon), and their children to leave the comforts of suburban America and return to his native England during the 1980s. Sensing opportunity, Rory rejoins his former firm and leases a centuries-old country manor, with grounds for Allison’s horses and a stable. However, all is not as it seems and soon the promise of a lucrative new beginning starts to unravel and the couple have to face both the secrets and unwelcome truths that lie beneath the surface of their marriage.
