Vertigo Releasing has announced that director and co-writer Darius Marder‘s Academy Award® and BAFTA nominated drama, SOUND OF METAL, starring Riz Ahmed in an OSCAR nominated performance, will be released in UK cinemas from 17th May 2021, with Irish cinemas following at a later date.
The film will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video from 12th April 2021.
Ruben (Riz Ahmed) and Lou (Olivia Cooke) live together, traveling gig to gig playing their loud, frenzied music. Suddenly Ruben, a passionate drummer, loses his hearing and his world is upended, causing him to struggle with depression and be tempted by past addictions.
SOUND OF METAL co-stars Best Supporting Actor nominee Paul Raci, Lauren Ridloff and Mathieu Amalric.
