Producers of the world premiere of Bedknobs and Broomsticks, a brand new stage musical adaptation of Disney‘s classic 1971 musical fantasy film, have announced that they now aim to launch the show in the UK.
Bedknobs and Broomsticks was originally scheduled to premiere at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater in May 2019, but was postponed due to the passing of original director and choreographer, Rachel Rockwell.
Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison will now co-direct the world premiere production which will feature the original Sherman Brothers songbook, alongside new material by Brian Hill (book) and Neil Bartram (music and lyrics).
Bedknobs and Broomsticks will also include “lost” Sherman Brothers songs not featured in the original film.
