¡Viva!, HOME’s Spanish & Latin American Festival makes its 26th appearance in Manchester!

As the UK’s biggest celebration of new Spanish and Latin American cinema, HOME’s ¡Viva! Festival has been a key event in Manchester’s cultural calendar for over two decades.

The much loved festival is now running at the Manchester venue until Thursday 26 March 2020, with a specially selected programme of the most exciting work from across the Spanish-speaking world.

¡Viva! Festival 2020 features a packed programme of 31 feature films and 10 short films from Spain and Spanish-speaking Latin America, including 15 UK premieres.



Alongside the films, HOME with host six director Q&As with Belén Funes, David Romay, Gabriel Velázquez, Itandehui Jansen, Oriol Puig and Antonella Sudasassi, three of whom are also first-time filmmakers.

There will also be a number of talks and workshops, including the return of the Café Cervantes and the Language Lab, both popular with those learning Spanish, and a One-Hour Intro to Latin American Indigenous Filmmakers, delivered by Mexican director Itandehui Jansen and writer Armando Bautista.

The focus on indigenous filmmakers will also runs throughout the calendar of screenings.
