The Almeida Theatre has announced that Olivier and BAFTA-nominee Anne-Marie Duff will play the role of Constance in the forthcoming World Premiere of Beth Steel’s latest play, The House of Shades, which runs from Monday 18 May to Saturday 27 June 2020, directed by Blanche McIntyre.
Steel’s anticipated new play spans five decades in the lives – and deaths – of the Webster family.
Inside their home, set against the ever-changing industrial landscape of working-class Britain, some chase dreams of a brighter future and others are haunted by the nightmares of the past.
The creative team includes: Anna Fleischle (Design & Costume); Liam Bunster(Costume); Richard Howell (Lighting); Gregory Clarke (Sound); Lucy Hind (Movement); and Annelie Powell (Casting).
