Studiocanal has released the brand new main trailer for director Marjane Satrapi’s upcoming biographical drama, RADIOACTIVE, out in cinemas across the UK on 20th March 2020.
Based on the acclaimed graphic novel, Radioactive: Marie & Pierre Curie: A Tale of Love and Fallout by Lauren Redniss, and adapted for the screen by Jack Thorne, the film stars Rosamund Pike as Marie Curie, alongside Sam Riley, Aneurin Barnard, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Simon Russell Beale.
The film’s UK Premiere will take place at Curzon Mayfair on Sunday 8 March 2020, followed by a Q&A with Rosamund Pike and Marjane Satrapi. Celebrating the pioneering work of Marie Curie, the event will take place on International Women’s Day with the Q&A broadcast into cinemas nationwide.
From the 1870s to the modern era, RADIOACTIVE is a journey through Marie Curie’s (Rosamund Pike) enduring legacies – her passionate relationships, scientific breakthroughs, and the consequences that followed for her and for the world. After meeting fellow scientist Pierre Curie (Sam Riley), the pair go on to marry and change the face of science forever by their discovery of radioactivity. The genius of the Curies’ world-changing discoveries and the ensuing Nobel Prize propels the devoted couple into the international limelight.
