Following a brand new development project, Dublin’s 5-star hotel, The Merrion, has launched a brand new luxury Spa & Health Club, a tranquil sanctuary where the highest standard of wellness meets an elegant redesign, creating a centre of beauty beneath the hustle and bustle of the city.
Replacing the original spa, The Merrion Spa & Health Club incorporates six treatment rooms, a steam room and sauna, gym and the original 18-metre infinity pool with its iconic hand-painted mural backdrop.
Designed by Georgian interiors expert Alice Roden, whose work is seen throughout The Merrion, the new spa is a total haven of privacy. Neutral paint colours, soft Irish fabrics and delicate lighting create a calming space for hotel guests and members of the public alike.
The spa is complete with six treatment rooms, a steam room and sauna, gym and an 18-metre infinity pool with a hand-painted mural backdrop.
In keeping with the rest of the hotel, the spa is characterised by a thoughtful collection of artworks, inspired by woodlands and wildlife. At the entrance, an original plaster relief of birds in flight by French artist Frederique Whittle hangs above the reception.
A vintage hand blocked paper from wallpaper manufacturers Zuber & Cie has been used in the treatment rooms, depicting an ancient oak forest, creating an illusion of being immersed in nature. In the relaxation room, guests can marvel at Lindsay Sekulowicz’s naturalistic drawings, created with 23.5 carat gold.
With some of the world’s leading brands and Ireland’s key professionals as partners, The Merrion Spa and Health Club offers an all-encompassing service including a new partnership with the globally-renowned French skincare brand Biologique Recherche. Signature treatments will also be available from luxurious skincare brand ESPA.
Award-winning Irish hair stylist Ciaran Nevin will operate a full-service salon in the spa, from colour and cuts to blow-dry’s and styling. With 30 years’ experience and a reputation as one of Dublin’s top salons, The Merrion are thrilled to welcome Ciaran and his team onboard. An extensive list of beauty treatments, physiotherapy by Milltown and personal training will also be available.
The Vitality Club Bar is the perfect place to relax after a treatment and perhaps try the ‘Mean Greens’ juice or a herbal tea. Alternatively, guests can enjoy a glass of fizz in the relaxation room, wrap up in the Urban Aran throws and admire the artwork.
An oasis of calm and comfort, the opening of The Merrion Spa & Health Club marks the next chapter in the hotel’s story, a natural evolution where wellness and beauty take centre stage.
