MarBella Corfu launches new Stand-Up Paddle Board Safaris

New for summer 2019, The MarBella Collection has launched new Stand-Up Paddle Board safari excursions at the luxury 5-star MarBella Corfu, designed to offer an alternative way to experience the Corfu coastline and all of its beauty.

MarBella Corfu is situated in the idyllic and tranquil south-east corner of Corfu, at Agios Ioannis Peristeron. Nestled in lush gardens and perched on a wooded hillside, the hotel is an ideal location for guests looking to relax and unwind in the crystal clear waters as well as the more adventurous nature enthusiast.

With the new Stand-Up Paddle Board safaris, nature observers will glide along the sea in complete tranquillity, led by an experienced guide to offer insight on the many natural charms of the island.

MarBella Corfu has combined an exciting introduction to paddle boarding with wildlife safari by sea. With excursions tailored to all levels, guests are invited to set off right in front of the hotel from the incredible Posidonia Meadows. These mesmerising ‘grassy’ meadows are composed of rare seaweeds bursting with marine life and offer great environmental benefits. Here a huge variety of fish and invertebrates can be spotted finding shelter from predators.

Instructors will guide guests on paddle-boarding techniques as they enjoy alternative views of Corfu from the sea whilst admiring the sea life swimming directly beneath their paddle boards. The safari will take in multiple points of interest around the island including the historic Old Fortress of Corfu which dates from the 6th century and the Agios Ioannis Peristeron Castle, which is situated on the hilltop next to the hotel.

Following this interesting history lesson, guests will be able to unwind whilst admiring the rich vegetation of the coast, the surrounding 1,000 year-old olive groves and the beautiful Pontikonisi, a Greek islet dating back to the 11th century that boasts the Byzantine chapel of Pantokrator.

For guests who enjoy underwater photography, there will be opportunities to dive in and take fantastic shots. Alternatively relax and take in the glistening blue waters and historic views of Corfu from the water, a new way to experience this magical island steeped in history and culture.
