Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre have announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Engelbert Humperdinck‘s much loved opera, Hansel and Gretel, a co-production with English National Opera, which runs at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre from 14 to 22 June 2019.
Sung in English, the production will se two casts sing at alternate performances, with 7 lead performers at each performance, alongside an ensemble of 30, and an orchestra of 19.
The full company includes: Rachel Kelly and Heather Lowe as Hansel, Susanna Hurrell and Elizabeth Karani as Gretel, Rosie Aldridge and Gweneth Ann Rand as Mother, and Duncan Rock and Ben McAteer as Father. Alasdair Elliott and John Findon will share the role of the Witch, Gillian Keith will play the Sandman at all performances, and He Wu will play the Dew Fairy.
Hansel and Gretel is directed by Timothy Sheader and conducted by Ben Glassberg, with design by Peter McKintosh, movement direction by Lizzi Gee, lighting design by Oliver Fenwick and sound design by Nick Lidster for Autograph.
