Nottingham Playhouse has today announced details of its 2019 Autumn season, which will include a specially-adapted new version of Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People starring Alex Kingston in the lead role of Dr Stockmann.
Directed by Adam Penford, and designed by Morgan Large, Rebecca Lenkiewicz‘ new adaptation will offer a fresh and contemporary look at Ibsen’s timely and gripping play about fake news, whistle-blowers and the corruption of power.
The season will also include a new production of Stephen Sondheim‘s Tony award-winning musical, Assassins, directed by Bill Buckhurst, as well as the previously announced community project, Coram Boy, to be staged at Nottingham’s Albert Hall, and the newly announced world premiere of Sophie Ellerby‘s LIT in the Neville Studio.
