Cameron Mackintosh has announced that Michael Ball (Javert), Alfie Boe (Jean Valjean), Carrie Hope Fletcher (Fantine), Matt Lucas (Thénardier), and Katy Secombe (Madame Thénardier) will lead an All-Star Staged Concert version of Les Misérables at the intimate Gielgud Theatre for a limited 16-week season from 10 August to 30 November 2019.

John Owen-Jones will play the role of Jean Valjean for three performances each week.

The original London production currently at the Queen’s Theatre will play until 13 July 2019, when the theatre will close for four months of rebuilding work. The restored Queen’s Theatre will reopen in December 2019 with the new touring production of Les Misérables.

It has music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and original French text by Alain Boublil and Jean-Marc Natel with additional material by James Fenton and adaptation by Trevor Nunn and John Caird.
