The Hampstead Theatre has today announced full casting for the highly anticipated UK Premiere of Martyna Majok’s Pulitzer Prize-winning drama, Cost of Living, which runs at the Hampstead Theatre from 31 January to 2 March 2019 (previews from 25 January 2019).
Directed by Edward Hall, the production will star Adrian Lester (Eddie), Katy Sullivan (Ani), Emily Barber (Jess) and Jack Hunter (John), all of whom will make their Hampstead Theatre debuts.
Sullivan makes her UK stage debut having originated the role of Ani in the award-winning 2016 off-Broadway production
John, a wealthy, brilliant, and successful PhD student with cerebral palsy, hires Jess, a recent graduate who has fallen on hard times, as his new carer.
Across town, truck driver Eddie attempts to support and re-engage with his estranged wife, Ani, following a terrible accident that has left her quadriplegic.
As four very different lives collide and entwine, roles are unapologetically flipped, reversed and exposed – who is actually caring for whom?
