British Airways launches first winter service flights from London Gatwick to Palma de Mallorca

British Airways has launched the first ever year-round service to operate from London Gatwick to Palma, making the capital of the Balearic Islands more accessible than ever to UK travellers during the low season.

The service will operate three times per week – Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays – until 29 March 2019, after which point the flight frequency will be increased for the summer period.

The launch reinforces the Palma Tourism Board’s aims of making Palma a desirable year-round city break destination for the UK, and increasing visitation numbers during the quieter months of the year.

Pedro Homar, General Director of Palma 365 says:

“At Palma 365, we are committed to offering tourists the best experience possible when visiting Palma and it is important to us that we showcase the rich culture and history Palma has to offer-year round. By increasing connectivity from the UK during the low season, the launch of the new British Airways winter service from Gatwick to Palma is a step in the right direction for us to accomplish our long-term objective of increasing visitation during the low season and creating a more sustainable tourism model, which benefits both locals and visitors alike. We are delighted with the launch of the new flights and will continue to work closely with our partners such as British Airways to promote the authentic side of Palma and to position the city as a leading year-round tourist destination.”

Flights will start from £25 each way based on December 2018 travel.
