Looking for something a little different this holiday season? Why not escape the bustling crowds, over-priced rides and endless queues with a whistle stop trip to Le Touquet Paris-Plage.

Situated between Boulogne and Baie de Somme in Northern France, the small seaside hotspot is an ideal destination for a wintery weekend getaway, and this year, the tourist board are pulling out all the stops with ‘Once Upon a Time in Le Touquet’!

The festivities will kick off on 30th November 2018 and will run until 6th January 2019.

Explore the Christmas Village every weekend and Wednesday, where you’ll find all things Christmassy, from handmade decorations, local baked treats and candy shops, to trinkets from local business pop ups and suppliers.

Meanwhile, those on the lookout for authentic local hangouts should head to the Marché Couvert on 8th-9th December, the town’s best kept secret where Le Touquet and French nationals go for all their winter shopping.

Families can bond together, taking a ride on the Christmas market’s carousel, or hitting the ice on the town’s very own ice rink located right in the heart of Le Touquet.

The 1st December marks a special day for Le Touquet, when Father Christmas arrives in to town to lead an enchanted parade, which ends with an unworldly firework display on the seafront.

The 15th December is also a date for the diary, as the town host another dedicated Christmas parade for those visiting at a later date.

Alongside the Christmas village, light display and skating rink, travellers can get fresh air and explore the outdoors by staying active with horse trails; sports lessons; guided tours and much more.

Little ones can be entertained in a pop-up indoor kids’ zone that is jam-packed with activities and toys, whilst adults can warm up with a glass of mulled wine, taking in some of the best talent from the local jazz music scene.

Jazz performances will run from 22nd-29th December at the local event centre Salle des Quatre Saisons and on the main streets of the town.
