Serving as a trailblazer event for the 2018 Manchester Science Festival (running from 18 to 28 October), HOME and Unlimited Theatre – in collaboration with RashDash – will present the World Premiere of Future Bodies, an immersive new science-based theatre piece which runs at HOME, Manchester, from Friday 28 September to Saturday 13 October 2018.
Marking the first production HOME has developed specifically for its intimate 150-seat Theatre 2 space, Future Bodies will smash together science fact and fiction for a thrilling theatrical exploration of the impact of science on human development.
This visceral and playful production – creatively captioned throughout to allow for full accessibility – fuses spoken word, live original music and movement through a series of humorous and thought-provoking vignettes.
Future Bodies will delve deep beneath the skin, peel back the layers, and shed a spotlight on consciousness, cutting-edge technology and its very real implications.
Created by Clare Duffy, Helen Goalen, Abbi Greenland, Jon Spooner and Becky Wilkie, and written by Clare Duffy and Abbi Greenland, the six strong cast includes: Yusra Warsama, Becky Wilkie, Alison Halstead, Lara Steward, Kate Maravan, and Deshaye Gayle.
Future Bodies is directed by Helen Goalen and Abbi Greenland, and designed by Rhys Jarman.
Consultant Scientists are: Professor Barbara Sahakian, Dr Tim Constandinou, Dr Anders Sandberg, and Professor Paul Freemont.
