Smartech Selfridges becomes first European Tech retailer to stock Snap Inc.’s ‘Snapchat Spectacles’

Just in time for the summer holidays and the festival season, Snapchat Spectacles feature a built in camera allowing users to capture photos and videos at the touch of a button, and with this new version, Snap Inc. has introduced a range of design updates and tech improvement, including water resistance.

 As well as protecting from UVA and UVB rays, the colourful and stylish new Spectacles feature a built-in, nifty 115-degree lens that records video and snaps photos, saving them in HD quality straight to the users Snapchat memory.

Rather than having to fumble with a phone, users simply press and hold to capture a photo Snap, tap once to capture 10 seconds of video or triple tap to record 30 seconds of continuous video. Spectacles capture the user’s perspective of the world with circular photos and video. New dual microphones capture clearer, high quality sound, reducing wind noise and balancing conversations in all Snaps. Additionally, an improved transfer speed thanks to built-in Wi-Fi means Snaps appear in Memories four times faster, ready to be sent to friends, posted to a story or even downloaded to a phone’s camera roll.

 Spectacles can store up to 150 videos or 3,000 photos at a time, and connected to a phone via Bluetooth, sync wirelessly with Snapchat.

70 videos can be captured in a single charge however users don’t need to worry about the battery running out in the middle of an adventure as Spectacles come with a charging case that can hold four full charges.
