Susan Graham is set to reprise her acclaimed performance as the wealthy widow Hanna Glawari in Susan Stroman’s production of Franz Lehár’s ‘The Merry Widow’, which begins performances at the Metropolitan Opera on 14 December, 2017.

This nine performance run marks the production’s first revival since its hugely successful premiere in the Met’s 2014-15 season.

Starring alongside Graham are Paul Groves as Danilo, Sir Thomas Allen as Baron Mirko Zeto, Adriana Chuchman as Valencienne and David Portillo and Taylor Stayton, who share the role of Count de Rosillon.

Making his Met debut, American conductor Ward Stare leads the comic operetta, performed in an English translation by Jeremy Sams. The production features set design by Julian Crouch, costume design by William Ivey Long, and lighting design by Paule Constable.
