Ahead of the film’s UK release on 28th July, Studiocanal will host an exclusive preview screening of hit new comedy, THE BIG SICK at Vue Manchester Printworks on Thursday 6th July, 6:30pm start.
The film will be presented by the film’s star, Kumail Nanjiani, who will introduce the film, do a bit of his acclaimed stand-up routine and then take part in a post-screening Q&A with co-writer and real-life partner Emily V. Gordon.
The film also stars Ray Romano (Everybody Loves Raymond), Holly Hunter (Raising Arizona, The Piano), Zoe Kazan (Ruby Sparks, Revolution Road) and Adeel Akhtar (Four Lions, Utopia).
When Pakistan-born aspiring comedian Kumail (Nanjiani) connects with grad student Emily (Zoe Kazan) after one of his standup sets, what they thought would be just a one-night stand blossoms into the real thing. But this further complicates the life that is expected of Kumail by his traditional Muslim parents.
Then Emily is beset with a mystery illness forcing Kumail to navigate the medical crisis with her parents, (Holly Hunter and Ray Romano) who he’s never met, while dealing with the emotional tug-of-war between his family and his heart.
