Running parallel to the 57th Venice Biennale, one of Japan’s most revered contemporary sculptors, Kan Yasuda, has now unveiled a striking new installation at Aman Venice (in collaboration with Christie’s), showcasing seven monumental sculptures throughout the Aman property.
Inspired by two previous visits to Aman Venice, Yasuda’s new exhibition, entitled Between Water and Sky, carefully echoes the true essence of Aman (peace) with its evocative sense of harmony, using his familiar materials of white marble and bronze to reflect the organic elements of the natural world.
Commenting on the installation, Jonathan Rendall, Deputy Chairman of Christie’s Americas, said:
“The absorbing forms of Yasuda’s sculpture, reflect elements of the natural world, which are designed to reflect the viewing experience. The pieces are both monumental and domestic in scale, and engaging in form and material”.
The exhibition is on view at Aman Venice until 5th November, 2017.
