Disney has revealed new details about the highly anticipated The Lion King attraction coming to Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris, promising an immersive new experience inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ beloved 1994 animated film.
The announcement was made during the “Horizons: A Carousel of Progress” presentation at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where Disney shared further details about the attraction and the wider immersive world that will surround it.
Set to become one of the largest attractions at the resort, the new ride will combine iconic scenes and songs from the animated classic with Audio-Animatronics figures, special effects and a brand-new flume system.
The Lion King Ride Will Retell Simba’s Journey
The new attraction will invite guests deep into the Pride Lands, offering a full musical retelling of Simba’s journey from cub to king.
At the heart of the experience will be Pride Rock, which will stand at an impressive 120 feet high. Guests will make their way into caves beneath the landmark before taking their place in the Circle of Life and embarking on the water-based adventure.
Along the way, riders will encounter a selection of memorable scenes from the original film, accompanied by some of its most recognisable songs.
One of the key moments featured in the attraction will be Simba’s final confrontation with Scar, bringing one of the film’s most dramatic sequences to life within the new immersive environment.
New Disneyland Paris Attraction Will Feature A 52-Foot Drop
The new The Lion King attraction at Disneyland Paris is set to deliver plenty of thrills alongside its storytelling.
The ride will feature a new flume system and three exciting slopes, culminating in a 52-foot drop.
Audio-Animatronics figures and special effects will further enhance the experience, helping transport guests into the world of Simba, Scar and the Pride Lands.
Disney says the attraction will form part of an all-new immersive world dedicated to the characters and stories of The Lion King, creating a larger experience beyond the ride itself.
A New Immersive World Comes To Disney Adventure World
The new attraction will be surrounded by an immersive The Lion King-themed world featuring opportunities for dining, shopping and meeting favourite characters from the film.
The area is set to become a major part of the ongoing transformation of Disney Adventure World, Disneyland Paris’ second park.
The project will give Disneyland Paris guests a new way to experience one of Disney’s most enduring animated stories, combining familiar music and characters with a major new water attraction.
