Publisher 2K has officially launched WWE 2K26, the newest instalment in the flagship wrestling video game franchise. The latest entry introduces major gameplay updates, a roster of more than 400 playable superstars and a new Showcase mode centred on CM Punk.
Several premium editions of the game – King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition, and Monday Night War Edition – are already available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The Standard Edition, featuring CM Punk as the cover star, launches on 13 March 2026.

CM Punk’s Career Takes Centre Stage In 2K Showcase: Punked
One of the headline additions in WWE 2K26 is 2K Showcase: Punked, a narrative-driven mode focused on the career of CM Punk.
Narrated by Punk himself, the mode revisits defining moments from his career while also exploring alternate scenarios and “what if” match-ups. Players relive pivotal rivalries and career milestones that helped shape Punk’s reputation as one of the most influential and outspoken superstars in modern wrestling.
For players looking for a tougher challenge, the Showcase Gauntlet allows players to face every opponent featured in the showcase consecutively, testing their ability to overcome a series of increasingly difficult matches.

WWE 2K26 boasts a roster of more than 400 playable characters, combining current superstars from Raw, SmackDown and NXT with WWE legends and Hall of Famers.
Major names included in the game range from contemporary stars such as Rhea Ripley, Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins to legendary figures like Steve Austin, John Cena, The Rock and Andre the Giant.

Gameplay has also received a number of refinements designed to make matches feel more dynamic. A revamped reversal and stamina system adds greater strategy to in-ring encounters, while expanded physics interactions help deliver more dramatic moments during matches.
The game also introduces additional interactive objects such as stackable tables, shopping carts and thumbtacks, allowing players to create chaotic hardcore-style encounters. Intergender matches are now available across multiple modes, expanding the range of possible match-ups.
The broadcast presentation has also been improved with more interactive entrances and new commentary from Booker Tand Wade Barrett.
Creation Suite Expands Customisation Options
The popular Creation Suite returns with expanded customisation features. Players can now create up to 200 custom superstars, doubling the previous limit and giving the community more room to build original characters.
Other improvements include deeper face and body morphing tools, expanded image storage with up to 2,000 slots for Community Creations and new two-tone hair options that allow more detailed character designs.
Together these additions aim to give players greater freedom to recreate real wrestlers or design entirely new superstars, arenas and championships.
Major Updates To MyGM, MyRISE And Universe Mode

In MyGM, players managing WWE brands can now book larger multi-person matches and intergender contests while navigating an expanded calendar of shows across each season.
The story-driven MyRISE mode introduces a new narrative in which players return to WWE after a two-year absence. What begins as a hopeful comeback quickly turns into a difficult climb back to the top after early defeats against champions associated with Paul Heyman, including Bron Breakker and Jordynne Grace. Player decisions throughout the story shape how their superstar rebuilds their reputation.
Meanwhile, Universe mode introduces the long-requested WWE Draft, allowing players to reorganise brand rosters over the course of a dedicated draft week. The feature gives players more control over rivalries, storylines and show rosters.
The Island Returns With New Storyline And Factions
The social hub mode The Island returns with a larger environment and a new narrative structure.
In this storyline, Roman Reigns is no longer the dominant force. Instead, three rival factions compete for control of the island: the Order of Tradition led by Cody Rhodes, the Order of Shadows led by Rhea Ripley and the Order of Anarchy led by CM Punk.
Players choose which faction to join as they progress through quests, explore new environments such as the Scrapyard Brawl arena and unlock gear and rewards.
Ringside Pass Introduces Seasonal Content
WWE 2K26 also replaces the traditional DLC system with the new Ringside Pass, a seasonal progression system offering both free and premium reward tiers.
Players can unlock new superstars, cosmetic items and in-game currency by progressing through tiers across the game’s different modes. The first season highlights talent from Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, including wrestlers such as El Hijo del Vikingo and Psycho Clown.
Future seasons will introduce additional characters and themed content throughout the year, expanding the roster and gameplay experience long after the game’s launch.
