At San Diego Comic-Con last week, Wizards of the Coast gave fans a thrilling first look at the upcoming Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man set. The panel unveiled exclusive previews of cards featuring some of the most legendary heroes and villains from Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.
Global Release Set for September 26, 2025
The new crossover set launches worldwide on September 26, 2025. This marks a bold new step in the ongoing partnership between Magic: The Gathering and Marvel. Following the success of previous Secret Lair releases, the full set immerses players in web-slinging action and classic comic storytelling.
First Look: Spider-Verse Cards and Comic-Inspired Art
Attendees at the panel witnessed a range of card designs, blending Spider-Man’s world with Magic: The Gathering‘s strategic gameplay. Among the reveals were Showcase Scene cards that connect to form panoramic comic book sequences. These cards mirror key moments from Spider-Man’s iconic adventures.
The set also features illustrations inspired by classic Marvel comic covers. Legendary artist Steve Ditko’s influence is front and center, capturing both heroic and villainous characters in vibrant detail.
Heroes and Villains Join the Magic Multiverse
Fans can look forward to playing with well-known characters like Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and Gwen Stacy. The set also includes formidable enemies such as Venom, Green Goblin, and Doctor Octopus. Each card brings new gameplay mechanics designed to reflect the unique traits of each character—from agility to innovation and moral strength.
What to Expect Before Launch
Additional previews and product details will roll out beginning the first week of September ahead of the set’s worldwide release on September 26.
