Dark Horse Comics has officially revealed a new spy fiction comic series: John le Carré: The Circus – Losing Control. This tense, three-part narrative builds on the iconic legacy of legendary author John le Carré, whose espionage stories have shaped the genre for decades.
Releasing on November 19, 2025, the series is developed in collaboration with The Ink Factory, known for producing le Carré adaptations across film and television.
A Collaboration Between Spy Fiction’s Leading Creators
Set in the modern day, the three-issue series unites two masters of spy fiction: Harvey Award-winning and New York Times Bestselling author Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT, Spy Superb) and Eisner Award-nominated artist Ibrahim Moustafa (RetroActive, James Bond: Origin).
Kindt will write the series with art by Moustafa, colours by Brad Simpson (Summer Shadows, Let This One Be A Devil), and letters by Simon Bowland (The Hunger and the Dusk, Parasomnia).
Inside The Story: Espionage, Secrets, and a Missing Leader
The narrative unfolds behind the closed doors of The Circus, Britain’s elite and secretive intelligence agency. There, operatives carry out critical missions that remain invisible to the public eye. At the helm is Control, the agency’s enigmatic leader.
But now, Control is gone.
No one has seen him. He doesn’t respond to calls. He misses key briefings. His absence is a dangerous mystery. Only Maggie, his personal assistant, knows the truth—and she’s not even sure what it is.
Maggie’s Mission: Contain Chaos Before It Spreads
Maggie, a member of the hidden team known as “The Mothers,” is trained to manage every detail of operations inside The Circus. She knows the names, passwords, and mission files of every agent. But she has no idea why Control has vanished—or if he planned this disappearance himself.
With a mole exposed in Moscow, time is running out. If news of Control’s absence spreads, the entire structure of British intelligence could collapse. Maggie must act alone, navigating lies and betrayal, while questioning everyone—including Control himself.
