Eureka! to celebrate the centenary of ‘NOSFERATU’ with 100th Anniversary cinema screenings!

2022 marks the centenary of one of the finest and most influential horror films of all time, F.W. Murnau‘s legendary silent expressionist classic, NOSFERATU, a film that changed cinema back in 1922 and continues to haunt audiences to this day!

To celebrate the centenary, Eureka! has announced a series of 100th Anniversary cinema screenings, which will see the iconic film returning to cinemas across the UK and Ireland throughout 2022.

An unauthorised adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, NOSFERATU marked a real turning point in the career of its legendary director and gave us a chilling and unforgettable performance from the great Max Schreck as the vampire Count Orlok.

Although a court order to destroy the film was successfully brought by Stoker’s widow, some copies escaped, and subsequently gave the 20th century some of its defining images of supernatural terror and dread. A decades-long search for the best surviving material and a re-recording of the original score by Hans Erdmann now allows audiences to see the film exactly as it premiered 100 years ago.
