On 12 October, Spain will celebrate its national day, Fiesta Nacional de España, with festivities kicking off in the Spanish capital of Madrid.
On this day, locals and tourists will experience the fly by from the Spanish air force acrobatics teams, who release a stream of crimson and gold smoke, replicating the Spanish national flag. Festivities continue with a military parade, led by the King, and the eagerly awaited changing of the guards. Onlookers peel their eyes to catch a glimpse of the King himself and curiously look out of the Spanish Legion’s mascot, a goat, with many locals and visitors encouraged to dress up as a goat in celebration of the national day.
