Following the launch of their critically acclaimed debut London restaurant Gloria, the Big Mamma Group will open their latest restaurant, Circolo, a vibrant and sunny 9,000 sq ft Italian trattoria, in Central London’s Fitzrovia this June.
With over 20,000 bottles of spirits lining the walls, and thousands of festoon lights adorning the ceiling, the new restaurant will accommodate 280 covers – 60 of which will be swathed in sunlight on the outdoor terrace – and will bring Sicilian coast sunshine to the heart of Fitzrovia.
Circolo will showcase a 100% homemade, generous and slightly ‘over the top’ menu, made comprising small cicchetti as well as larger platters for sharing. Expect metre-long pizzas loaded with San Marzano tomato and creamy burrata from Puglia; Sfoglia Norma (a giant silk handkerchief, pasta alla Norma-style); and show stopping centrepieces from the Sicilian Grill, like Calamari e lemoni and Pork skewers al Arrabiata.
When it comes to desserts, as seen with their insta-famous Lemon Meringue Pie, Big Mamma knows how to create something unforgettable. At Circolo, alongside a selection of homemade gelato (flavours will include Bronte pistacchio, Amalfi lemon, Nocciole del Piemonte) will be an “OTT 1L Sundae”, served with giant cookie chunks.
