Full casting announced for UK & USA tour of Stephen Daldry’s production of ‘An Inspector Calls’

PW Productions has announced full casting for the upcoming UK and US tour of Stephen Daldry’s seminal production of J.B. Priestley’s classic thriller, An Inspector Calls, which opens at York Theatre Royal on Friday 14 September 2018 before touring to Cambridge Arts Theatre, New Wimbledon Theatre, Cheltenham Everyman Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Washington DC, Wallis Annenberg Center Los Angeles, Chicago Shakespeare Theater and Arts Emerson, Boston.

Liam Brennan will play ‘Inspector Goole’, Christine Kavanagh ‘Mrs Birling’, Jeff Harmer ‘Mr Birling’, Andrew Macklin ‘Gerald Croft’, Lianne Harvey ‘Sheila Birling’, Hamish Riddle ‘Eric Birling’ and Diana Payne-Myers ‘Edna’. The cast is completed by Chris Barritt, Adam Collier, Chloe Orrock and Beth Tuckey.

Written at the end of the Second World War and set before the First, the compelling and haunting thriller begins when the mysterious Inspector Goole calls unexpectedly on the prosperous Birling family home, shattering their peaceful family dinner party with his investigations into the death of a young woman.

JB Priestley’s brilliantly constructed masterpiece powerfully dramatises the dangers of casual capitalism’s cruelty, complacency and hypocrisy.
