National Theatre Live has announced that Alan Bennett‘s acclaimed new play, Allelujah!, currently enjoying its World Premiere run at the Bridge Theatre until 29th September 2018, will be screened in cinema nationwide on 1 November 2018.
Allelujah! is Bennett‘s tenth collaboration with award-winning director Nicholas Hytner.

The Beth, an old fashioned cradle-to-grave hospital serving a town on the edge of the Pennines, is threatened with closure as part of an NHS efficiency drive.
Meanwhile, a documentary crew eager to capture its fight for survival follows the daily struggle to find beds on the Dusty Springfield Geriatric Ward, and the triumphs of the old people’s choir (newest member: the Pudsey Nightingale).

Allelujah! will be filmed live during a performance at the Bridge Theatre and will mark the third collaboration between NT Live and the Bridge following Young Marx and Julius Caesar.
