Paul Ireland’s ‘PAWNO’ arrives in selected cinemas and on Digital Download on 20 October, 2017

The debut feature from director Paul Ireland, PAWNO will be released in selected cinemas and on digital download on 20 October, courtesy of Ascendant Releasing.

Written by Damian Hill, and set to an eclectic soundtrack featuring the likes of Tom Waits and Vance Joy, PAWNO stars veteran actors John Brumpton, Kerry Armstrong and Tony Rickards, alongside rising talents Maeve Dermody, Mark Coles Smith and Damian Hill.

PAWNO is a big-hearted, character-driven ensemble that takes place in a dusty pawnbrokers in the heart of Footscray, an inner-western suburb of Melbourne, where world-weary owner Les Underwood watches as the lives of people who come through his doors collide, change and unravel.

From blossoming romance to desperate last gambles, these twelve individuals stories represent the best and the worst of one day in the life of Melbourne’s most hopeful and giddily mixed-up suburb.

Diversity is present onscreen throughout the film, representing an authentic snap-shot of modern Australia.

PAWNO arrives in selected Cinemas and on Digital Download 20 October 2017.
