With World Animal Day (4th October 2017) fast approaching, The Born Free Foundation has released a range of themed books and merchandise with profits from the sales going directly to the foundation, to help fund its incredible work.
The Born Free Foundation was founded in 1984 by Virginia McKenna OBE and Bill Travers, following their starring roles in the classic film, Born Free. Today, led by their son Will Travers, Born Free takes action worldwide to protect threatened species and stop individual animal suffering. Born Free believes wildlife belongs in the wild and works to phase out zoos. They continue to rescue animals from lives of misery in tiny cages and give them a lifetime of love and care.
Born Free protects lions, elephants, tigers, gorillas, wolves, polar bears, dolphins, marine turtles and many more species’ in their natural habitats, working with local communities to help people and wildlife live together without conflict. Their high-profile campaigns change public attitudes, persuade decision-makers and get results.
Every year, Born Free helps hundreds of thousands of animals worldwide.
