The Japanese Gallery is proud to announce that it will be exhibiting one of Katsushika Hokusai’s famed woodblock prints of the Fugaku sanju-rokkei (Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji) series.
The series “36 Views of Mount Fuji” is undoubtedly one of the best-known and most celebrated examples of Japanese woodblock prints in the world. The print’s innovative composition, technique and colouration have brought him international acclaim. While his work prior to this series is certainly important, it was not until this series that he gained broad recognition and left a lasting impact on the art world.
